LET'S EAT IN THE USA!!!

As we continued our trip across the USA collecting information and enriching our knowledge about this country, it was time we learned about its cuisine. The USA is known for its fast food and hamburgers & hot dogs stand out among all the rest! So we wanted to try and prepare our own, however, ours would be very special as they were very healthy made of fruit!! Here's how we made them!

Continuando con nuestro viaje por EE.UU. recogiendo información y enriqueciendo nuestro conocimiento de este país, llegó la hora de aprender sobre su cocina. EE.UU es conocido por su comida rápida, pero dos  sobresalen por encima de las demás, ¡las hamburguesas y los perritos calientes! Así que quisimos probar y preparar unas propias que serían muy especiales porque eran comidadas muy sanas hechas de frutas. ¡Aquí está cómo las hicimos!

First, it was time for a hamburger! - Primero era turno de la hamburguesa!

Once we'd finished and overcome our first cooking challenge, it was time to prepare a hot dog!!

Una vez terminado y superado nuestro primer reto de cocina, llegaba la hora del perrito caliente!!

Now it was time for some dessert! A donut covered in chocolate with toppings!!

Era la hora de un postre! Donut de chocolate con toppings!!

Our last recipe was a bit sweety, marshmallows with rasp & blackberries!

La última receta fue algo dulce, nubes y moras!

5-YEAR-OLD CLASS - PHONICS REVISION

We're continuing with phonics revision and this time we used our mini white boards to do so. We just needed to write the phonic letter of the sound that teacher called out.

Continuamos con el repaso de los phonics y para ello usamos las pizarritas. Simplemente teníamos que poner la letra del sonido que teacher decía.

4-YEAR-OLD CLASS - SHAPES, COLOURS & NUMBERS

On Friday we did a simple 3-in-one revision activity with a shape-colour-nunber pack of cards. The idea was that the children could identify any of the three items and pick the correct card out amongst all of them!

El viernes hicimos una actividad de repaso muy fácil de 3 en 1 con un paquete de tarjetas que llevaban figuras, colores y números. Se trataba de que los niños pudieran identificar cualquiera de las tres cosas y elegir entre todas la tarjeta correcta!

THANKSGIVING DAY!!

Today we went to the school library with the 5-year old class for a special story telling: a Thanksgiving story! We received word that a turkey was in trouble and about to be eaten by a farmer so off we went to find out what was going on!
When we arrived at the library we saw that some of our parents were ready to tell us the "Turkey Trouble" story.
This turkey was very funny because he disguised himself as some animals in order to trick Jack the farmer and not to be eaten by him and his family. And do you know what? Turkey accomplished the mission since they all ate pizza instead!!

Hoy hemos ido a la biblioteca del cole con la clase de 5 años para un cuenta cuentos muy especial: una historia de Thanksgiving! Nos enteramos de que un pavo estaba en problemas porque un granjero se lo quería comer así que nos fuimos para allá a descubrir lo que pasaba!
Cuando llegamos a la biblioteca vimos que algunos de nuestros papás estaban preparados para contarnos el cuento "Turkey Trouble".
Este pavo era muy gracioso porque se disfrazaba de animales para engañar a Jack el granjero y que no se lo comiera él y su familia. ¿Y sabes qué? El pavo consiguió su misión ya que en su lugar todos comieron pizza!!

Muchas gracias a los papás que han hecho posible este cuenta cuentos!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - STORY TELLING

For the past 2-3 weeks we've been working with the story 'Go away big green monster' and with it we have learnt more colours, emotions and parts of our face!
We have a big made-up monster in the classroom that children play with by pinning all the parts on an empty face. Needless to say that everybody wanted to take part and they did!!

Durante las últimas 2-3 semanas hemos estado trabajando con el cuento 'Go away big green monster'  y con él hemos aprendido más colores, emociones y partes de la cara!
En clase tenemos un monstruo grande hecho a mano que los niños usan para jugar poniéndole las partes en una cara vacía. Ni que decir tiene que todos querían participar y lo hicieron!!

On a different day we used a flip book in which the monster had his face split in two, with different colours on either side and children had to find and match up both of them, so that they were exactly the same.

Otro día usamos un "flip book" en el que el monstruo tenía la cara partida en dos con diferentes colores a cada lado y los niños tenían que buscar y emparejar ambas para que quedara exáctamente la misma.

4-YEAR-OLD CLASS. BEE BOT

This week we met a special friend; we played with Bee Bot for the very first time! We learnt some very basic commands like forward and backward and we used it with shapes as it's something we've been working on in the classroom recently.

Esta semana hemos conocido a un amigo muy especial; jugamos con Bee Bot por primera vez! Aprendimos algunas órdenes muy básicas como adelante y atrás y lo utilizamos con las figuras ya que es algo que hemos estado trabajando en clase últimamente.

5-YEAR-OLD CLASS - PHONICS DOMINO

This week we've revised some of the phonics we've been doing for the past few weeks and today we did so by playing a domino game. We had to match both the phonic and the picture on the card with their corresponding partner in order to complete the vocabulary circle.

Esta semana hemos repasado algunos de los "phonics" que hemos estado haciendo a lo largo de las últimas semanas y hoy lo hemos hecho jugando al dominó de los phonics. Emparejábamos la letra y el dibujo de la tarjeta con su correspondiente pareja para así completar el círculo de vocabulario.

WE ARE GOING TO THE USA!!

We all now have our own gear with us and we are ready to embark on a flight to the USA!! We'll be travelling along the Route 66 visiting different places!

Ya tenemos todos nuestra indumentaria y estamos listos para embarcar en el vuelo rumbo a Estados Unidos! Viajaremos por la Ruta 66 visitando diferentes lugares!

Nuestro primer destino fue Nueva York, donde 

encontramos huellas de la ladrona, así que 

estamos en el camino correcto para encontrar 

el pasaporte de Zowi!

Lo primero que hicimos fue explorar la Estatua

de la Libertad y ver si podíamos averiguar

el paradero de la ladrona!

... después nos fuimos a Nueva Orleans

donde aprendimos cómo suenan

algunso instrumentos!

Nos dieron un chivatazo de que habían visto

a la ladrona jugar en los casinos de

Las Vegas, así que nos fuimos para

allá en busca de más pistas!

Había llegado el momento de descansar

un poco y nos fuimos a un cine de Hollywood

a ver una peli!

This is only the beginning of a challenging mission but we are determined to help Zowi!!

HELP ZOWI!!!

This week we all became explorers to take on a mission: help Zowi get all his stuff and passport back from his trip around the World. William the explorer found Zowi disheartened and very upset and couldn't understand what was going on. Luckily, Zowi had a QR code in his suitcase that revealed everything we needed to know in order to help him! In this video clip (edited by my workmate Marta) we can see how sad Zowi is!

Esta semana nos convertimos en exploradores para ocuparnos de una misión: ayudar a Zowi a recuperar sus cosas y su pasaporte de su viaje alrededor del mundo. El explorador William encontró a Zowi muy triste y desanimado y no entendía qué le pasaba. Por suerte, Zowi llevaba un código QR en su maleta que nos reveló todo lo que necesitábamos para ayudarle! En este vídeo hecho por mi compañera Marta, vemos lo triste que está Zowi!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - BEE BOT

Today we did a very special activity in the classroom as we met bee bot for the very first time! Kids had to throw a coloured die and take bee bot to whichever colour it'd landed on. Since it was the first time, we didn't want to make it too complicated so we only used three colours, red, green and purple.

Hoy hemos hecho una actividad muy especial en el aula; hemos conocido a bee bot por primera vez. Los niños lanzaban un dado de colores y llevaban a bee bot al color que había caído el dado. Como era la primera vez, no lo hemos hecho muy complicado y hemos usado solamente tres colores, rojo, verde y morado.

ROSALEROS VIAJEROS

We are now ready to start our great new project "Rosaleros Viajeros". We have a long (virtual) journey ahead of us, during which we will be travelling to some English speaking countries around the World where our kids will learn about their culture, traditions and customs. 

The kids have a mission to undertake: help Zowi replace all the stuff he had gathered while travelling to those countries and stolen by con people but most importantly, recover his passport which was snatched by a thief!

They will need to find clues and figure out riddles in all the places they go to so that they can move into the next country and carry on with their mission.

So kids, get your passport and suitcase at hand to become an explorer and be ready for an unforgettable journey, as you will be immersed in the exciting, fabulous and unpredictable world of adventures!

Ya estamos preparados para dar comienzo a nuestro gran proyecto "Rosaleros Viajeros". Nos espera un largo viaje (virtual) por recorrer, en el cual viajaremos a algunos de los países de habla inglesa alrededor del mundo donde los niños aprenderán su cultura, tradiciones y costumbres.

Los niños tienen una misión que llevar a cabo: ayudar a Zowi a reponer todas sus cosas que había recopilado en todos esos países y que fueron robadas por gente maliciosa, pero lo más importante, recuperar su pasaporte, arrebatado por una ladrona!

Necesitarán encontrar pistas y averiguar acertijos en todos los sitios allá donde vayan y así poder trasladarse al siguiente país y continuar con su misión.

Así que niños, coged vuestro pasaporte y maleta para convertiros en un explorador y preparaos para un viaje inolvidable ya que os vais a sumergir en el apasionante, maravilloso e impredecible mundo de la aventura!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - STORY TELLING

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

A few weeks ago, we told our first story book in the classroom and with it, we learnt our first new words in English such as numbers, emotions like happy & sad, sizes big & small and some colours.

Hace ya algunas semanas empezamos con nuestro primer cuento en el aula, con el cual aprendimos nuestras primeras palabras en inglés como son los números, emociones alegre y triste, tamaño grande y pequeño y algunos colores.

HALLOWEEN WORKSHOPS

On October 31st we celebrated Halloween in a very special way. The kids were mixed in different class levels and we carried out various workshops such as make-up, responsive, story telling and song singing. They had a brilliant time as they went through four different workshops and at the end of it a spooky present awaited them!

El pasado 31 de octubre celebramos Halloween de forma internivelar mezclandonos varias clases y realizamos differentes talleres: sonsorial, de maquillaje, de cuentos y de canciones. Los niños se lo pasaron fenomenal ya que tenían que pasar por 4 talleres diferentes. Al final de los talleres tuvieron un premio de miedo!

HALLOWEEN - CARVING PUMPKINS

As Halloween came closer, we wanted to carve a pumpkin and make a jack-o-lantern. In the 3-year old classroom we had the time to scoop out three different pumpkins and made happy, angry and scared faces. 

Kids were surprised to find pips inside the pumpkins since they didn't expect it and were explained that these pips can be used as seeds to plant more pumpkins.

Al acercarse Halloween, quisimos cortar calabazas y hacer caritas triste, enfadada y asustada. En la clase de 3 años tuvimos el tiempo necesario para llevarlo a cabo.

Los niños se sorprendieron al encontrar pepitas en su interior ya que no se lo esperaban y le explicamos que se pueden usar para plantar mas calabazas.
